This little still life was inspired by the song Second Chances, by Gregory Alan Isakov; specifically the the verse:
 
Me, I'm mumbling in the kitchen for the sun to pay up
Lonely is a ring on a cold coffee cup
I'm some sick hound
Digging for bones
If it weren't for second chances, we'd all be alone 
 
After I finished the painting one of my rascally cats knocked the cup down and what was left of the coffee splattered everywhere. Part 2: Splattered Chances?
